Alright, y’all, we are taking a tiny break from regularly-scheduled REAL bride content and showcasing one of our newest photoshoots! This super fun, full of laughter day was one of the most fun styled shoots we’ve done in a long time. Our girl Shelby Laine took the photos, the fabulous Elgin Hotel in Marion, KS hosted, and we had a blast hanging out and goofing around. We hope you’ll fall in love with this beautiful venue as much as we did! Check out some of our favorite pics below:

If you’re wanting the PERFECT old hotel/vintage building type of vibe, The Elgin should be super high on your list of potentials. This gorgeous hotel features turn of the century architecture, stunning details, and the perfect balance of elegant-yet-spooky vibes. We loved how ethereal and moody the entire building felt and there were SO MANY great places to shoot. The entire grounds are gorgeous and give you TONS of options for your ceremony set ups!

Take a peek at the gorgeous woodwork of the building! The gold accents! The piano in the foyer! The elegant chandelier! We could literally go on pretty much all day because we are literally obsessed. This was our first shoot at The Elgin but it certainly won’t be our last.

When it came to styling for this shoot, we knew we wanted looks that captured the elegant, romantic vibe of The Elgin. We chose one of our exclusive gowns from our private collection, Opal and Lace, named Blossom! This A-line gown features a subtle v-neckline, organic trickling lace, whimsical bishop sleeves, and a stunning layer of secret sparkle. These sleeves are actually even detachable, allowing for a costume change post-ceremony if you wanted. We loved the long sleeve look and wanted to keep the entire vibe sophisticated, yet fun-loving.

For our male model’s look, we kept everything classic and chic with our most popular navy blue suit and matching tie. His ivory pocket square to match his ivory shirt allows for an extra pop of color next to his boutonniere. His sophisticated, timeless look next to her whimsical, blush-colored gown created a perfectly complimentary look that screamed elegance, yet warmth. We can recreate this look and styles similar with your own wedding colors with your groomsmen easily.

We had SO MUCH FUN during this shoot. What was your favorite part – the gorgeous outfits, the fun photography, the gorgeous venue?! We might be biased but we loved all three! Let your consultant know you want to try Blossom on during your next appointment!

We have been WAITING to announce a new partnership here at Dress Gallery and finally – the day has arrived! We’ve been trying to find a way for our brides to celebrate with champagne after they say “YES!” to their dream dress. Kansas liquor laws, however, make that extremely difficult for us to navigate as a retail business. After half a year of frustration, the heavens must have heard us….because Alzavino Wine Tavern opened two doors down! Owned by local couple Danielle and Ken Harmon, we partnered up with this gorgeous new business to help our brides celebrate while also encouraging support for a new local business. We are so thankful they agreed to partner with us; we truly think this is gonna change the GAME on the Dress Gallery experience.

We did a super sexy, ultra cool photoshoot to highlight some of our favorite new dresses and Alzavino’s new space. We wanted this shoot to feel decadent in every way – full of luxury, especially in the wine and chocolate! This effortlessly cool real-life couple, Sara and Ryan, totally encapsulated our European vibe for this shoot. Plus, we might be biased, but how hot do they look?! (Thx always to our girl Shelby Laine for snapping those good good photos.)

Get ready to want ALL of these looks for your wedding day – and get ready to check out Alzavino with your loved ones after you say yes to your dress!

Take a peek at Alzavino’s choco-cuterie board! This decadent dessert board features all LOCALLY MADE chocolate, fresh fruits, flaky croissants, and a chocolate fondue covered in roasted marshmallows. This has QUICKLY become a favorite of all the Dress Gallery girls and was promptly devoured during the photoshoot! Interested in the locally made chocolate? Check out Lovie and Co!

This is just PART ONE of our fabulous photoshoot! Stick around to see the final looks!

With Halloween right around the corner, we ALWAYS love when brides come in with gothic, alternative styles. Fall is the most popular time of the year for nontraditional weddings and if ~spooky is your vibe, then we have some great dresses for you! Lots of our designers feature nontraditional styles + colors that are perfect for brides who want to add a little drama to their wedding day. Some of these styles are here at Dress Gallery year ’round, while others we have to loan from our designers. Find a dress you love?! Text us prior to your appointment to confirm its’ availability! But without further ado, here are 10 of our favorite alternative dresses for 2022 brides!

Style 3400 from Allure Bridals

This spicy yet super comfortable A-line gown features TOTALLY BLACK EVERTHING. From black tulle to black lace to black beading, this is the ULTIMATE gothic dress! The soft A-line skirt is flowy, not poofy, allowing her silhouette to shine yet still able to dance the night away. The neckline features petite, delicately beaded straps, a modest plunging neckline, side cut outs, and an open back! This dress is perfect for any alternative bride who wants a truly unique, dramatic dress for her wedding day. She lives at Dress Gallery full time, so we can always pull this dress during your appointments!

Tristyn from Maggie Sottero

Tristyn is a gorgeous balance between edgy, yet traditional with her soft, strapless sweetheart neckline and full ballgown skirt. The bold lace appliques are available in both black and ivory, allowing for every bride to choose their color preference! The patterned glitter underskirt creates shimmer with every step! Tristyn also comes with a matching cathedral-length veil with the same bold, black lace! Tristyn is no longer at Dress Gallery, but can be loaned from the designer for a small fee, so ask when booking your appt!

Hesper from Rebecca Ingram

Want something totally unique + different, but not wanting to commit to black? We totally understand! Not every alternative bride wants to go dark and moody, so Hesper is a great option! This flowing glitter tulle gown features a soft A-line silhouette, textured glitter tulle, a plunging neckline, trendy beaded banded waist, and a slit perfect for highlighting your silhouette. Available in Misty Mauve, our newest fav color, this gown has a subtle purple undertone that is great for brides who want something ~different, but not noticeably untraditional. We think Hesper is a perfect combination of modern, yet classic! Dress Gallery is her permanent home, so we’re happy to pull her anytime!

3455 by Allure Bridals

What if you’re not an A-line girl? If you’re wanting to show off your hips, we got you, too, boo! This sexy yet sophisticated off-the-shoulder gown features a fitted silhouette with a stretch liner, so you can boogie the night away. Her black lace features black sequinning, allowing you to shimmer, while the blush undertone creates a romantic and edgy color palette perfect for any fall bride. Add in the black fabric buttons down to the dramatic train and we’re waiting for the first bride to pick up this stunner! She’s a DG forever babe, so we can pull her anytime!

London by Maggie Sottero

Loved Tristyn, but not looking for a ballgown? Introducing her little sister, London! London is Maggie Sottero’s newest edgy gown, a stunning fitted strapless sibling complete with this same bold, black lace. The textured glitter tulle creates visual dimension throughout the dress and we love the detachable off-the-shoulder straps. The see-through bodice keeps the dress just a touch sexy while still allowing your silhouette to totally shine! She also comes with a matching cathedral length veil for extra drama. London has to be ordered from the designer for a small fee, so definitely check with us before you book!

Adara by Wilderly Bride

Wanting to elope in the mountains / desert / rainforest but need the ultimate dress with the fluffiest skirt to pull off the photos? Look no further than Adara! Here in store, we have her in a gorgeous smoky blue/grey color, the same as overcast skies, that gives the lace appliques and extra “pop!” We love the detailed banded waist, open back, and effortless volume of the skirt! Adara is a permanent member of the Dress Gallery fam, so stop by anytime to see her!

9861 by Allure Bridals

Not sure if you want to commit to a fully black wedding dress?! Hopefully this style can help you choose! Available both in traditional bridal ivory and edgy black, we love this soft A-line gown featuring a gorgeous off-the-shoulder neckline, see-through bodice, and bold lace appliques throughout the skirt. The softly plunging neckline is sexy, yet still modest, allowing you to be the star of the show in this gown. This style is a permanent member of the DG fam, but we have her in the traditional ivory color; if you’d like to see the black in person, let us know prior to your appointment so we can look into loaning it for you!

While we do our absolute best to style everyone we can, one of the few things we ~don’t carry here at Dress Gallery is cocktail-like attire or formalwear that’s not prom. Each DG stylist curated a list of favorites outfits they would wear (or will be wearing!) to upcoming fall weddings. Fall in love with one of our choices? We have all been seeing the trends in bridesmaids change over the past few years. Gone are the days of 100% matching chiffon bridesmaids dresses, a wall of cookie cutter sameness. Instead, brides are opting to create visual dimension and texture in their photos by allowing bridesmaids to choose styles, colors, and fabrics that suit them best. This not only makes some gorgeous photos, but also guarantees your bridesmaids feel their most confident on your wedding day! Two of 2022 hottest fabrics are velvet and silk satin. We have both fabrics from multiple designers in great colors, meaning we can totally create your wedding day look, EVEN if you’re wanting some mix-and-match vibes. Here are some sneak peeks of our upcoming bridesmaids dresses featuring silk satin and velvet textures! Love?? Yeah, we know. Request your bridesmaid consultant to pull these styles for you at your consultation!

Not only are these gorgeous dresses available in these super cool fabrics, but a lot of our designers have even dropped HOT NEW COLORS as well! Show your consultant your favorite dress during your appointment and we’ll pull these styles for you!

Giddy up, y’all, and hold onto your cowgirl hats, because we have the coolest wedding we’ve seen in a hot minute about to drop on the blog! Our newest #dgbride Meghin literally created the most gorgeous wedding for her summertime ceremony marrying her soulmate, Tyler. Her modern take on a Western wedding is TO DIE FOR and her photographer, Bridget Nicole, has quickly jumped to a top favorite of ours. You’re going to want to steal every piece of Meghin’s wedding, so get ready to fall in love!

Meghin wore an absolutely fabulous Chic Nostalgia gown named “Quest,” which she customized with shoulder cuffs for an ultimate bohemian vibe. Her fitted strapless gown is a timeless silhouette, while her geometric and floral lace combination recreates the ultimate boho look. We love her totally unique and bespoke pieces to her wedding day look, too. From her leather buckle booties to her leather branded accents, we are OBSESSED with her styling. Just take a peek at her gorgeous bandana bouquet wrap!

Meghin kept her super edgy look classic and feminine by adding pearl accents in her jewelry and veil, which matched the petite beaded detailing throughout her dress. We love her gorgeously wild bouquet courtesy of Roots and Blooms was perfect – the pampas grass accented against the creamy, dusty florals complimented the nude undertone of her gown! Meghin had a vision for her wedding day look and we love how she stuck to it, regardless of how “nontraditional” it may seem. These are the photos you’ll remember forever, so wear what makes you feel the most confident and beautiful!

We can’t take credit for Tyler’s look, but his modern rustic grooms attire complimented Meghin perfectly. Everything from the leather accents to the pampas grass boutonniere was the ultimate pairing to Meghin’s sexy yet sophisticated Western look. They kept their bridal party casual and comfortable with flowy emerald chiffon dresses and casual attire for the groomsmen! Also, can we PLEASE talk about Meghin’s gorgeous sparkly romper she changed into for the reception?! Because while we can’t take credit for that fabulous frock, we can ABSOLUTELY be jealous of her style!

Congratulations, Meghin and Tyler! We cannot thank you enough for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your big day. We truly believe that “Quest” was just waiting for you, the ultimate cool bride, to rock on your wedding day! We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter – something we’re sure you’ll have in abundance. Cheers to the Bowmans!

Okay, y’all, we LOVE trend forecasting for brides. Being able to keep a pulse on what our brides find unique, interesting, and customizable is important for our business. We want our brides to trust that we have their wedding visions in mind and we are always on the lookout for cool new trends in the wedding industry. Here a few trends we’re seeing for 2022 brides and we are SO STOKED. Fall in love with some of these?! Let your consultant know and we can help style you with these in mind!

Trend #1: Bridal Bows

We are LOVING the bridal bow trend! Whether you’re willing to wear one in your hair, on your shoes, on your dress, or more, bows are a cute and flirty way to add a little drama to your wedding day look. They’re the perfect accent for a bride who wants a traditional, yet modern twist. We’ve seen brides style their looks with tulle hair bows, bow-tie shoes, and even gorgeous bows on the dress themselves!

Trend #2: Bridal Jackets

So bridal jackets aren’t really ~new – we’ve seen a lot of brides create personalized denim/leather jackets for their wedding day. But instead of a coverup for cold weather, we’re seeing brides include bridal jackets as part of their ceremony look! Dainty, feminine jackets out of tulle have been most popular, but we’ve seen some gorgeous lightweight bridal cardigans, fun bell-sleeves, feathers, and more! Don’t be afraid to try something cool and different, especially if your dress is simplistic.

Trend #3: Western-Inspired Accents

Maybe it’s because we’re in Kansas, but our brides are LEANING into the Western-inspired design features and we are HERE FOR IT. Whether you’re wanting leather details, turquoise jewelry, cowboy hats, dried florals, cow hide…..the lists go on and on! Western-inspired weddings mixed with fun, modern pieces are having a MOMENT right now and we love it. This is a great way to personalize your wedding while also showcasing something you love. Plus, we love the option of pairing your bridal look with bold squash blossoms – totally chic yet ultra cool!

(See that gorgeous Western bride? That’s #dgbabe, Kayla, who was featured in Western Weddings Magazine!)

Trend #4: Bridal Headbands

So if Blair Waldorf was getting married in 2022, she would ROCK this look. Preppy yet fashionable, we are loving the idea of pairing such a traditional hair piece for such a formal event. Instead of traditional bridal crystals, brides are opting for pearls, padded, and even attaching the veil to create a totally new look! The hair accessory of your youth is getting a sophisticated makeover for the ultimate bridal statement.

Trend #5: Nontraditional Menswear Ties

Don’t forget about spicing up your groom’s look! Menswear is really taking a front seat in wedding planning these days with many grooms wanting to make as much of a statement as the brides. We love grooms who decide to accent their look with unique details, particularly ties! Bolo ties are definitely having a moment, but we’ve seen grooms choose ascot/cravats, floral/patterned shirts, and even jewelry instead! Don’t sleep on having your man look just as fashionable as you do.

Would you rock some of these 2022 trends?! Tell us your favorites at your appointment or in our Facebook comments!

Guys! We have been anxiously awaiting to make this announcement….but our designer line is growing! Dress Gallery is officially a member of the Madi Lane family and we COULD NOT be more excited! This whimsical and romantic collection is destined to be the dream designer of some of our brides. A touch of boho, a touch of ethereal, a touch of royalty all mixed together to create a gorgeously stunning, perfectly crafted, and elegantly complimentary collection. You are going to want to RUN to try these dresses on and guess what? You’ll be one of the first in Wichita to be a Madi Lane bride! Now, let us introduce to you some of the babes that have newly arrived and a few we are still patiently waiting for!

INTRODUCING: COOPER

A sexy, simplistic stunner of a dress, Cooper is literally the dreamiest. Made from luxuriously soft crepe fabric, this dress is deceptive – she’s fitted, yet structured and is every bit as comfortable as you think she’d be. She features a plunging v neckline and a banded waist, highlighting the body and allowing for silhouette to be the forefront of this dress. The cute illusion button back adds just a touch of drama and if you want to turn the dial up on Cooper, she can come with a detachable scattered pearl overskirt. Flowy, fun, and feminine, this is a great way to add a touch of whimsical to your wedding look. You can remove the skirt during your dance party reception for easier movement and truly let YOU be the star of the show in this gown!

INTRODUCING: CALLIE

Say hello to Callie, a flowy strapless sweetheart gown featuring bold lace appliques, subtle sparkle, and the dreamiest neckline. This soft skirt is perfect for any bride wanting to float effortlessly through their wedding day. Her sheer bodice with exposed boning keeps this dress just softly sexy while staying in a classic, timeless silhouette. We love the rose-y undertone to this dress that truly allows the lace to POP! Style her with a detachable cap-sleeve illusion jacket for a quick change look for your reception. The jacket features a gorgeous keyhole back and button details, allowing for a little extra drama!

INTRODUCING: CARINA

We are so in love with Carina, a beautifully soft a-line gown featuring bold yet delicate lace appliques throughout. The petite spaghetti straps perfectly compliment the modest v neckline, allowing for a totally dreamy neckline that everyone will love. Her charmeuse internal liner is buttery soft, letting you feel the most comfortable and confident on your wedding day. She features clear sequins throughout the lace appliques, adding a hint of subtle sparkle that lets you shimmer with every stuff. This dress was truly made for dancing and celebrating with loved ones while amplifying your natural beauty.

INTRODUCING: CODY

Can’t decide between a lace and simplicity? Cody says you don’t have to. This silky smooth European crepe gown is dream, complete with interal stretch liner to allow you lots of motion. The classic sheath fit perfectly hugs curves while creating an effortlessly chic look. Her lace bodice features 3D florals, creating visual dimension and texture to contrast the simplistic skirt. Her supportive tank straps are modern and trendy, while her luxurious fabric and classic silhouette balances perfectly. We absolutely love her styled with her matching cathedral veil featuring multiple fold over layers, waved side cuts, and volume to add serious drama!

INTRODUCING: AVERY

Okay, y’all, you are gonna LOSE IT when you try on Avery. This absolutely stunning A-line gown is a literal dream, featuring the sexiest plunging neckline that is both modern yet traditional. Her bold lace appliques are gorgeous up close and even more defined and stunning from far away. The softly scooping yet open back features pearl buttons, a small yet classic detail we absolutely love. The best part? She secretly sparkles! An entire layer of glitter tulle peeks through the skirt beneath the lace allowing, you to shimmer with every step you take. Whether you’re doing a formal ceremony, an outdoor elopement, or anything in between, Avery is truly a perfect gown for any wedding type.

INTRODUCING: HAVEN

Ready to fall in love with Haven?! Because we certainly did. This sweet and soft strapless A-line gown features a billowing and full tulle skirt, the perfect middle ground between minimal and princess-y. We love how effortless and airy this full tulle gown looks, as if you could frolic into the sunset forever. Her delicately sequined lace appliques feature a trickle down pattern, creating dimension in the skirt with negative space. Haven can also come with a soft tulle shawl featuring matching lace, allowing for a delicate and different wedding day look.

INTRODUCING: AMELIE

We’re not supposed to play favorites, but if we did….Amelie would be a front runner. This beautiful, bold, and modern gown features the most gorgeous floral lace appliques throughout, totally sequined to shimmer in sunlight. Her off-the-shoulder neckline is actually detachable, allowing you to have a more comfortable strapless look if you decide. We personally love how soft and romantic the shoulder pieces look – great for a ceremony before changing into a party-friendly strapless. Her sheer bodice features peek-a-boo exposed boning, hiding beneath the beautiful lace, allowing for a hint of sexy against this feminine gown.

Okay, fam – time to show off our latest creative collaboration with K + P Photography! They reached out to us about doing a styled shoot focusing on organic, natural backdrops and breezy, easy-going vibes. We absolutely love this bohemian backyard styled shoot that’s the perfect combination of local elopement and intimate ceremony. Add in the colorful, wild florals and the macramé accents and this shoot is to DIE for! We’re biased, but we totally love this eclectic-meets-cool styling for your big day. Let us know your favorite part of this shoot on Facebook!

Can we PLEASE talk about how cool this boho elopement dress is? Featuring a plunging neckline, delicate sheet lace, a stretch liner, and not a lick of beading throughout – this is definitely for the girl who wants to let her body be the stunner. We paired this cool dress with a super unique fringe capelet to add extra pizazz and spice! If you’re not a traditional cape girl, you can change up your look by doing a cape, off-the-shoulder sleeves, a bow, and more! Talk to your consultant about different ways to customize your look (:

We kept the menswear look cool and casual, fitting with the down-to-earth vibe of the wedding. We went with our Casual Groom package, which includes everything your guys will need except for the jacket! So if you’re looking for a low key yet super stylish look for your groom, come and see us! We love the unique Mulberry color of his pants, but we pulled the dusty color palette in with champagne suspenders and a gorgeous dusty rose velvet bowtie!

This look is so fun and sexy! This dreamy Morilee gown is perfect for any bride who wants the spotlight to truly be on them during their wedding day. Plus, we cannot get over how freaking cool these florals are from Free State Flora! This dusty and petite wildflower bouquet fits the totally ethereal and whimsical vibe perfectly. Definitely call Emily for your floral needs!
