#dgcouple: Alyson & Chris

February 4, 2021

We’re throwing it back to warmer weather with this sunny, late Summer wedding! Introducing #dgcouple Alyson & Chris, who got married at Applejack Pumpkin Patch in August 2020! We were so thankful to be able to style both Alyson & Chris for their special, intimate ceremony. Check out some of our favorite photos courtesy of Cynthia Whiteside Photography!

Normally we always highlight the bride first, but we’re gonna switch it up this time and focus on Chris! Chris wanted a classic look and with the wildflower accents Alyson had planned, we thought navy would be a great look. This timeless suit choice was dark enough to be as formal as they wanted, but bright enough to really shine in the August sunsets. We love how he chose a Saffron polka dot bowtie to add an extra pop of dimension!

Alyson chose an absolutely s t u n n i n g Stella York crepe gown featuring organic lace straps, subtle sparkle throughout, and a unique arrowhead train. Her trickling lace perfectly accented her hips and we love the small, yet sexy, keyhole back! This gown was perfect for her airy and bright ceremony.

we talk about the gorgeous button detailing that goes throughout Alyson’s train? And how perfect her wildflower color palette looked? This slightly bohemian yet totally warm atmosphere was the perfect backdrop for this couple’s upbeat, joyous ceremony. We love how bubbly and full of laughter Chris & Alyson looked in every photo!

Thank you so much, Chris & Alyson, for trusting Dress Gallery to be your bridal boutique. We loved playing a small part in your big day. We wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness. Here’s to the Brauckman’s!

10 Dope Wedding Photographers – Part Three

February 2, 2021

This is Part Three of an ongoing series. Check out Part One and Part Two!

You ready?! It’s time for us to take another deep dive into some of our favorite local/nearby wedding photographers. These lists are seriously in no particular order because we love all of these photographers, so if you’re looking for someone to capture your big day, take a peek at some of our favorites!

Alycia Rife Photography

Buckle up, guys, because you’re about to be blown away by Alycia’s photos. We have been big fans of her work for years now and she comes highly recommended by our brides; her word-of-mouth reputation is beyond stellar. We love her natural, but just-a-tad-dusty editing style that keeps your pictures moody yet timeless!

Becca Louise Photo

So we feel super bad that it’s taken us three posts to give a shoutout to Miss Becca. Not only is she a FAB photographer, but she’s also a DG bride! So she really gets it, ya know? We have loved collaborating with her recently on a multitude of styled photoshoots; her creative and artistic viewpoint really shows in her couples’ wedding galleries. She keeps her editing bright and natural with just a hint of moodiness – the perfect combination.

Jubilee Opal Photography

Holy smokeshow! Every time we’ve received a bride’s gallery from Jubilee Opal, we’ve been blown away. Not only does she always deliver a ton of images, but she also has a great way of capturing her couple’s natural happiness. We love her combination of earthy edits and black-and-white beauties; definitely check her out!

Kara Smith Photography

If you’re ready to have the dreamiest, most ethereal wedding photos in the game, then you need to go talk to Kara. She has a unique vision when it comes to her galleries and we’re loving her editing recently. It’s a great combination of timeless and light along with a undertone of moodiness and emotion that we love. Some of our favorite brides have RAVED about Kara, so she should definitely be on your list!

Joshua Ayres Photography

If you’re a bride looking for more traditional wedding photos, we definitely recommend Joshua. His classic editing and posing make for gorgeous, timeless photos that will stand the test of time. We love his attention to detail and how he manages to capture every smile!

Sincerely T Photography

Let us introduce you to another DG bride/photographer we love! Tonya is an absolute fabulous human being and a serious hustler man. Not only is she a wife & Momma, but she’s also a multi-business entrepreneur! She runs Ciao Nail Salon (across the street from us in Delano!) along with her own photography business. We love her romantic, dreamy style of editing.

Gentle Rayne Photography

Time to introduce y’all to Jess, one of the coolest and edgiest photographers in the game. We were introduced during a styled workshop and ever since, we’ve been big fans. She takes moody portraits to a whole new level while still highlighting the natural beauty of the day. We think her detail shots are UNREAL – she won’t miss anything on your big day!

Sublett Studios

If you’re looking for a photographer with hundreds of hours under her belt, plenty of weddings, and an editing style she’s perfected, then check out Sublett Studios. She has been one of the most consistent wedding photographers in Wichita for ages and there’s a reason her reputation is so good; she knows her way around a camera. We love that she lets the natural beauty of the day shine and keeps her editing bright, light, and minimal.

R & B Photography

We love a good photography duo – it’s a guaranteed way to make sure you have a second shooter at your event PLUS two sets of eyes capturing important moments is always better than one. Briley and Rylee are a fabulous combo that we’ve heard GREAT things about; they’re relatively new to the Wichita photography scene, but we can tell they’re not going ANYWHERE.

Emona Hennen Photography

Rounding out this list is one of our long-time favorite wedding photographers, Emona Hennen! She is a natural at capturing at couples in their element, totally happy and relaxed. Her galleries are full of natural poses, bubbly personalities, and tons of gorgeous photos. We think her golden hour photos are some of the best in biz!

Edgy + Hip Arcade Styled Shoot ft. Blue Starry Gown

January 26, 2021

One of our absolute favorite parts of our job is when we get to collaborate with our girl Shelby Laine for our monthly photoshoots. Sometimes we go all out, while others we rely on the effortlessly cool backdrop and gown to do all the hard work. Our most recent photoshoot is definitely one of those where the GOWN is truly a stunner – so we had to find something cool, funky, and just as eclectic as this Essense of Australia celestial blue gown! Check out some of our favorite images from our ultra-cool arcade shoot below.

This Essense of Australia gown features a soft a-line skirt, a plunging v neck with spaghetti straps, secret glitter tulle, and starry appliques throughout. This is the ultimate dream gown for a bride who wants a unique, sexy gown just as cool as she is!

Ready to rock the most magical dress in the store? Tell us during your appointment you’d like to try “The Star Dress” and we’ll be so excited to pull it for you!

#dgsisters: Ashley & Madison

January 23, 2021

Time to spice things up! We are so thankful when brides share their experience with their loved ones and, by doing so, other brides choose us as their bridal boutique. It’s particularly special when being a #dgbride runs in the family! Let us introduce you to Ashley & Madison, two #dgbrides who are also sisters. Madison married her soulmate, Drew, in July of 2020 and Ashley married her soulmate, Kash, in August 2020! Check out pictures from both of their weddings (R + B Photography for Madison, Alex Behrens Photography for Ashley!)

So Madison’s up first! Her wedding was originally scheduled for March of 2020, but they pushed the date back due to COVID-19. Despite the change of plans, Madison didn’t let that stop her perfect day! We styled her in a gorgeous A-line Morilee gown featuring a soft tulle skirt, heavily beaded bodice, and absolutely zero lace!

Madison wanted a classic, romantic look that fit her down-to-earth and bubbly personality. Her extra sparkly top created the “WOW!” impact we were looking for, while the soft tulle skirt allowed her to float throughout her reception. Combined with a perfect sparkly veil (it was her something borrowed!) and we think Madison did a great job keeping her look chic and timeless.

We were lucky enough to style her husband, Drew, and his crew, too! (I’m on fire right now.) To match their slate blue and greenery color palette, we kept Drew’s look airy and summery by using a light grey. Accented with pops of dark blue, the feminine color palette got a masculine feel!

Fast forward just a few weeks and it’s time for Ashley’s wedding! Ashley and Kash originally planned to get married in April, but also moved their wedding date due to COVID-19. Ashley wanted her wedding to be rustic and elegant – a very different vibe than Madison’s! She kept her wedding different by utilizing a different vibe and decor, but still a summery color palette.

Can we lovegush over this picture of Ashley and her daughter, Baylen?!

Ashley and her husband, Kash, are definitely more rustic than Madison and Drew – so we tried to style the menswear groups accordingly. Kash’s group featured dark navy suits with greenery and some western accents! We love that Kash stayed true to his personality and rocked an awesome Stetson!

We love that Ashley kept her wedding traditional by having a church ceremony first, followed by a blast of a reception. Her cathedral photos were among some of our favorites from her gallery!

Thank you so much, Ashley & Kash, Madison & Drew, for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your big day. You are truly special brides to your consultant and will forever be one of our favorite families. We wish you all a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness – something we know you’ll have in abundance. Cheers to the Biddles & the Meyers!

#dgbrides: Karina

January 17, 2021

Hello, DG babes! Time to introduce to you The Escobars, established 2020. Our girl Karina and her hubs Eduardo got married in March 2020 in a small, pre-COVID ceremony. We absolutely love their infectious love for each other, captured by the one-and-only Justin Casanova.

Karina chose a chic, timeless long-sleeved Moonlight gown for her big day. This sheath fit dress perfectly complimented her body, while still giving her the ability to move and groove on her wedding day. Accented by a sheer lace belt and sheet lace sleeves, this dress is a great combination between romantic and whimsical!

Her Moonlight gown featured primarily lace and some secret sparkle throughout the dress. We love that she styled her classic dress with a classic, raw edge cathedral veil! Not only did it add some serious movement to her wedding photos, but we love how traditional the whole outfit looks!

Like, for real y’all – how cute are these two?! We love how infectious their smiles are. You can truly tell that they are having the time of their lives! His chic blue suit looks so good next to her champagne colored gown and the accents of natural florals keeps everything fresh and springy – perfect for March.

Cheers to the Escobars! Thank you so much, Karina, for trusting us to style you for your wedding day. We loved getting to know you and playing a small part in this important moment. We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter!

#dgbride: Andie

January 13, 2021

Alright, peeps, hold onto your hats, because #dgbride Andie looked like a smokeshow during her wedding to her soulmate, Jacob, on 10/4/2020! We loved their classic, chic ceremony – take a peek at some of their gorgeous photos, courtesy of Higher Ground Weddings!

Andie wore a totally gorgeous Essense of Australia gown with a flowy chiffon skirt, off-the-shoulder neckline, and secret sparkle hidden throughout the lace appliques. We love how she accented the dress with a small beaded belt and a STUNNING dark lipstick! (For real, Andie – we LOVE this makeup look!)

Andie wanted a dress that was timeless and classic while also still making her feel beautiful. With a plan to party and dance the night away, we knew an A-line silhouette would be the way to go. Combined with the sophisticated yet modest neckline and this dress is the perfect combination of romantic and whimsical.

Our absolute favorite part of Andie & Jacob’s photos is how. freaking. happy. they. are. Andie’s smile is genuinely contagious even in pictures, so we couldn’t help but smile ear-to-ear when we viewed their gallery. Their love and happiness for each other is definitely infectious! We loved Andie glow on her special day.

Congratulations to the Deffenbaugh’s! We absolutely loved styling you, Andie, and wish you a lifetime of love & happiness with Jacob. You two are truly glowing! Thank you so much for being a #dgbride!

11 Unique & Totally Cool Escort Card Ideas

January 10, 2021

It’s such a small detail, but we love escort cards. When you have assigned seating, creating a unique and interactive way to display names is a great way to add fun & flair to your wedding. This is also a great way to personalize your day and make something totally special to you. Pulling in your themes, colors, and favorite items can showcase your personality! Check out some of our favorite unique escort cards below.

“Find Your Party Animal” glitter animals

Dinosaurs and zoo animals are having a wedding moment and we are HERE FOR IT. Any opportunity to bring in animals on your big day is a perfect way to show some whimsical flair. Keep these details formal and upscale by painting them in metallic accents!

Retro cassette tapes

Having a throwback wedding and want to really show off your 90s side? We think these cassette tapes are so cute and a great way to add some dimension to your photos. We’ve never seen something iconic like this used as a wedding detail – we love how cool it is!

DIY dip-dyed escort cards

If you’re wanting a way to save some cash, DIY-ing your escort cards is a great option. These super simple cards are dip-dyed in the wedding color palette and feature a bold, modern font. These totally unique and one-of-a-kind escort cards keep your day effortless and organic!

Dried fruit + vellum

There’s just something so classic and chic about dried fruit and with the added pop of vellum, this is a great way to take something easy and make it classy. You could easily swap these orange slices for other fruits that fit your vibe/color palette, or you could mix-and-match for a fun, funky style.

Growlers, jugs, etc.

Instead of creating a space where everyone gathers to look for names, creating centerpieces that also serve as escort cards is a great way to increase flow for your event. This will allow guests to walk around freely while finding their names instead of everyone waiting in a line to see where they belong. We love these cool, down-to-earth painted growlers – perfect for any beer fans!

Origami birds, paper airplanes, and more!

If you’re wanting something that truly has a special touch, we think these origami place cards are a perfect combination of sweet and special. The amount of care and effort that goes into creating even one of these birds is special, but to have one for every wedding guest? It’d be a truly gorgeous photo and a great keepsake for guests.

Raw oysters!

A little bit on the boujie side? We fell head-over-heels with this organic and natural escort card display by using real, raw oyster shells! After cleaning, these chic and sparkly details would make a perfect addition to any nautical wedding. Utilizing organic pieces like this definitely elevates your event.

Take a shot & your seat!

If you’re having a party at your wedding, there’s no better way to get everything started than having the reception start with alcohol all around! These Patron shots topped with limes are a great way to celebrate a tequila-loving couple, but we’ve seen a little bit of everything – Moscow Mule shots, champagne glasses, etc. A little liquid courage and your dance floor will be full before you know it!

Mirror, mirror, on the wall….

One of our favorite new trends we’ve seen in weddings is the use of mirrors as signs; we’ve seen brides use them for just about everything, but we love the use of mirrors as escort cards. The mix-and-match vibe of the mirrors keeps everything bohemian and down-to-earth; combine this look with some gorgeous dried florals & pampas grass!

Terra cotta pieces

Rust & terra cotta are hot colors for 2021 and utilizing real terra cotta is a great way to pull everything together. We love the asymmetrical, organic edge of these broken pieces! If you’re wanting something more put together, we’ve seen brides utilize round terra cotta plant saucers – either way, we love the unique look!

Colorful, tessellated tiles

Whether you’re wanting something more subdued or a bright pop of color, tiles are a great way to show off your colors/theme while still keeping a formal feel. We love these blue accented tiles with a boxwood backdrop – a great combination of upscale yet down-to-earth. We think that Spanish tiles, with their bright bursts of colors, would be gorgeous too!

Which is your favorite escort card idea?! Which would you want at your wedding? Let us know in the comments!

#dgcouple: Sandra & Samuel

January 6, 2021

Okay, family, can we please introduce to you Sandra & Samuel, one of our fabulous #dgcouples who utilized us for their bridal & menswear attire! We are so thankful they put their trust in us to make their entire bridal party look good. We had a great time looking through this fun-filled gallery courtesy of Justin Casanova (one of our local favs!)

Real fast: how freaking BEAUTIFUL is this couple?! We loved how timeless & classic they kept their wedding look, all while having a heck of a party. Sandra’s show-stopping fitted Essense of Australia gown matched perfectly with Samuel’s sleek, fitted black tuxedo. Combined with her cathedral length veil and gorgeous hair accessory, their bridal look is truly perfect.

How freaking stunning is Sandra’s dress? This fitted Essense of Australia features a secret sparkle layer for extra drama, a small plunging sweetheart neckline for a touch of sexy, and a full skirt for lots of spice. This is definitely a dress for any bride who wants to WOW their guests, which we are sure Sandra did!

But Sandra’s not the only one we got to style! We absolutely loved working with Samuel and his groomsmen. Samuel is one of our favorite #dggrooms because we actually got to do a style change! Samuel rented two suits from us – a black tuxedo for his ceremony and a white jacket for a pop of fashion for his reception!

Congratulations to the Estrada’s! We are so thankful you chose Dress Gallery as your bridal boutique. We had an absolute blast styling your party. We wish you both a lifetime of love & happiness!
