#dgbride: Angela

September 2, 2021

Okay, guys, it’s time for an almost #dgbride anniversary post! Angela got married in a super gorgeous, super romantic autumn ceremony in October 2020. Despite the crazy of the world, Angela and her husband’s wedding was beautiful, timeless, and every bit the ethereal fall ceremony of our dreams. Photography dream time The Brightness Project totally captured their wedding day in all its’ beautiful, golden hour glory. You’re gonna swoon when you see these photos, so get ready to fall in love!

Angela chose an absolutely stunning long sleeved Essense of Australia gown featuring sequined floral lace appliques throughout. The illusion sleeves make this dress look effortlessly chic, while the fitted silhouette shows off her body in the best way. We love that this dress features subtle sparkle throughout, allowing Angela to shine with each step she took. A perfect combination of timeless and classic, this dress is truly one for the ages!

Angela kept her wedding day look sophisticated, yet sexy, by combining her fitted dress with traditional bridal accessories such a teardrop neckline and cathedral length veil. Her ivory/ivory gown was gorgeous against her skin tone, but also the dusty color palette of the Western Kansas backdrop. Add in her husband’s Western-inspired accents and this is the best union of down-to-earth, yet formal!

The Monjaras’s actually started their family prior to tying the knot, so this marriage was a long time coming for all members of the family. Some of our favorite shots from the day included gorgeous family photos, with everyone looking so happy and confident. We love the amount of happiness radiating from all these shots! Regardless of the route you take to get married, showcasing YOUR family on your wedding day is always the best way to remember such a special day.

What a handsome family, right?! Thank you so much, Angela, for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your wedding. We loved getting to know you and helping you create your absolutely INCREDIBLE wedding day look. Your Essense of Australia gown was truly made for you! We wish your family a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter. Cheers to the Monjaras’s!

#dgbride: Katriana

August 31, 2021

Guys, get ready to meet our newest #dgbride! Katriana married her soulmate in a gorgeously summery ceremony in June 2021. Her clean and classic dress was perfect for her traditional, yet ultra fun wedding day. She wore a DG exclusive gown you’re DEFINITELY going to want to try! You know our girl Shelby Laine captured her wedding day BEAUTIFULLY, so get ready to fall in love with some of our favorite sneaks!

Katriana picked an absolutely stunning Quartz + Lace dress, a private collection EXCLUSIVE to Dress Gallery named after gemstones. We worked with the owner of this design company to curate a collection of simplistic, yet timeless dresses and Katriana was our FIRST babe in this off-the-shoulder stunner! Named Garnet, this dress features a softly romantic neckline, classic A-line silhouette, and gorgeous fabric buttons down the bodice and train. This dress was truly perfect for Katriana’s timeless yet traditional ceremony. She added a small lace applique to raise the neckline, making the cleavage area more modest. The best part of the whole gown? This babe has POCKETS – perfect for snacks, Kleenex, and Chapstix!

Katriana kept her look classic and chic by choosing to accent her bridal outfit with timeless pearls and a feminine half-up, half-down hairdo. We love how her soft curls cascade over her shoulders and the simplistic design of the dress allows her to be the true shining star! We can’t take credit for her husband’s look, but his grey suit is a great way to feel formal, while also more down-to-earth than black!

Congratulations to the Isaacs! Thank you so much, Katriana, for choosing Dress Gallery as your bridal boutique. We are so thankful you trusted us with your wedding vision and are even MORE stoked that you’re the first bride in your gorgeous Arielle J gown! We can’t wait for future brides to show us your picture for years to come. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

#dgcouple: Alexis & Jarrett

August 29, 2021

We are SO STOKED to wish this fabulous #dgcouple a happy first anniversary! Alexis & Jarrett are members of our DG family; Alexis is our newest Bridal Consultant, but she’s also been working here during prom seasons for years prior to joining the staff full time. When it came to picking out her bridal party attire, Alexis put all her faith in us and we are so thankful. Take a peek at some of their dreamy photos courtesy of Ashlynn Freel!

Alexis and Jarrett were supposed to tie the knot in May 2021, but ended up postponing their wedding and re-planning when COVID threw them a curveball. They ended up with a gorgeous backyard ceremony at Alexis’s parents land, surrounded by gorgeous organic backdrops that perfectly accented Alexis’s neutral color palette. We love how she kept her entire look light, airy, and totally dreamy for the whole day! She accented her super flowy, long-sleeve A-line gown with crystal hair pieces – a perfect combination of sophisticated yet modern for this super chic bride.

When it came to choosing her bridesmaids’ colors, Alexis decided to land on a singular color and allow the girls to pick styles that suited their bodies. This allowed all the girls to be confident and comfortable throughout the day while creating visual dimension in Alexis’s photos! Her group was so fun to get together and measure; you could tell this would be a fun group of girls to spend the day with! Alexis ended up choosing Morilee’s “French Violet” color, a gorgeously dusty blue/purple that totally accented the light suits for the boys!

Alexis kept her groomsmen COMFORTABLE during their August ceremony by choosing our Casual Groom package, which allowed the boys to show off their suspender + bowtie combo without the jacket. We dressed Jarrett up with a jacket and matching long tie to keep him coordinating, but allowing him to stand out as the groom! Overall, we love the down-to-earth and laidback vibe of this wedding party and how perfectly their subtle blue/grey/purple color scheme comes together.

Jarrett and Alexis – we are wishing you the HAPPIEST of anniversaries and know you have many more to come. We are so thankful that you’re a part of our DG family. It was truly an honor to be able to style you for your special day! Drink an extra few for us tonight, you two, and cheers to the Johnsons!

August 26, 2021

Okay, y’all, so we’ve had something in the works for a while and we are SO STOKED to finally share the news. We’ve been wanting to have a Dress Gallery exclusive collection of dresses, something unseen anywhere else, so that brides could feel truly confident in saying “yes” to their dress. So, what did we do? BROUGHT IN OUR OWN DRESSES, OF COURSE! Yeah, you read that right! Introducing Opal & Lace, Dress Gallery’s exclusive collection of bridal gowns. We worked with a designer to curate and customize a fabulous collection of gowns unique to our store, area, and beyond.

Slowly, but surely, these babies are arriving to us, but we have our first nine dresses here in store and we’re in L-U-V. Like, serious love. Because these aren’t by a specific designer, they’re ~ours, we’re responsible for all marketing photos, which means you KNOW we have a fabulous photoshoot in the works with our girl Shelb to showcase these babies off. In the meantime, we wanted to still show you, so we took some in-store mannequin photos so you can RUN to your appointment and show your consultant.

Ready to see the first ever Opal and Lace dresses?! Here we go, fam!

Our first arrival, literally the first, was Aaliyah, a gorgeously soft A-line gown featuring the dreamiest tulle and bold lace appliques. Her silver threaded bodice shimmers in sunlight and her petite straps give support while showing off your fabulous shoulders. We love how down-to-earth and easygoing this dress is – perfect for destination elopements, garden parties, or even just a low maintenance bride.

Bernadette is a sweet thing, timeless and classic with a softly ruched v neckine, thick tank straps, and a gorgeous illusion button back. Her soft cashmere color is the perfect combination between champagne + blush (but don’t worry, she comes in all ivory and other color options, too!) We love her softly place lace appliques throughout the bodice and skirt, creating negative space and whimsical feel throughout the dress. Finished with a gorgeous charmeuse belt to match the color of the dress and you have the ultimate feminine gown!

Betty is a STUNNER of a gown because let us tell you, she packs a punch when it comes to design details. This soft A-line gown features fully beaded lace appliques throughout, beaded and petite spaghetti straps, a modern plunging neckline, and a double layer of lace for dimension throughout the skirt. Her horsehair trim allows for a perfect flair of the baby train, the easiest thing to bustle and dance the night away in. We have her in store in Cashmere, a gorgeous blushy/taupe, but she can be ordered in multiple colors for whatever your heart desires!

Anya is the perfect bohemian gown just waiting for her free-spirited bride. This A-line gown features petite spaghetti straps and off-the-shoulder flutter sleeves to add a touch of whimsy to the dress. Her fully beaded appliques have white/crystal beading, allowing you to shimmer with every step but play with whatever metal accents you want. (We think rose gold would be beautiful with this gown!) Her soft skirt features next to no volume, allowing your silhouette to be the true stunner in this babe. Top if all off with her trendy and modest scoop neckline and you really have a unique, yet classic gown.

Archer is a dress for a bride ready to celebrate. This super fun A-line gown features a double banded waistline, made to truly highlight your silhouette and elongate your torso. Her bold matte appliques throughout the bodice and skirt keep this dress down-to-earth while the slight beading through the belt adds a pop of sparkle. In store, we have her in a super edgy grey color, but she’s available in more traditional options for brides wanting to feel more “bridal.”

Want a gown with a little va-va-voom to her? Then definitely check out Amara! If you’re a classic, timeless bride wanting a little bit of a Gatsby/art deco flair, this stunning A-line gown should definitely be on your list. She features a soft charmeuse silk skirt, making her comfortable yet sexy. Her silhouette shows off your hips while still flowing at the waist for easy dancing. Her banded waist, romantic off-the-shoulder neckline, filligree-based lace appliques, and button back all combine to create the perfect storm of modern yet jazzy.

If you’re a long-sleeved bride, we didn’t forget about you! Bannon is a gorgeous lace illusion sleeved gown featuring a plunging v neckline, v back, geometric lace banded waist, and organic lace appliques throughout. She features minimal sparkle, instead focusing on the natural floral accents and keeping the bohemian vibes at the forefront. Her soft A-line skirt is perfect for dancing, chatting, and celebrating. Our Bannon is featured in Mocha, a gorgeously deep taupe color, but has many color palettes to choose from!

Are you more of a plain, chic type of bride? We’ve got you, boo! You’ll definitely fall in love with Addie, a super soft A-line dress featuring the dreamiest tulle skirt, soft ribbon belt (available in pink or ivory!), off-the-shoulder neckline, and crisp, clean seam work. This dress allows YOU to be the focus, with no sparkle or lace to take away from your natural beauty. We can totally see this gown in any setting, whether a traditional church or an outdoor garden party.

We shouldn’t pick favorites, but if we did, Billie would be pretty high up on the list. This strapless A-line gown features a plunging neckline, totally beaded appliques, and a super flowy skirt designed for celebrating the night away. We love her delicate train, which would make the easiest bustle, and the way the appliques trickle from the bodice through the skirt to add continuity to the look. Throw your hair up with a gorgeous veil, show off your shoulders, and you’re ready to party until the early morning with Billie!

These are our first few Opal and Lace dresses and we’re anxiously awaiting more! Which one is your favorite? Which NAME is your favorite? Let us know at your appointment or on Facebook and who knows – you might get a dress named after you!

#dgbride: Meghin

August 23, 2021

Giddy up, y’all, and hold onto your cowgirl hats, because we have the coolest wedding we’ve seen in a hot minute about to drop on the blog! Our newest #dgbride Meghin literally created the most gorgeous wedding for her summertime ceremony marrying her soulmate, Tyler. Her modern take on a Western wedding is TO DIE FOR and her photographer, Bridget Nicole, has quickly jumped to a top favorite of ours. You’re going to want to steal every piece of Meghin’s wedding, so get ready to fall in love!

Meghin wore an absolutely fabulous Chic Nostalgia gown named “Quest,” which she customized with shoulder cuffs for an ultimate bohemian vibe. Her fitted strapless gown is a timeless silhouette, while her geometric and floral lace combination recreates the ultimate boho look. We love her totally unique and bespoke pieces to her wedding day look, too. From her leather buckle booties to her leather branded accents, we are OBSESSED with her styling. Just take a peek at her gorgeous bandana bouquet wrap!

Meghin kept her super edgy look classic and feminine by adding pearl accents in her jewelry and veil, which matched the petite beaded detailing throughout her dress. We love her gorgeously wild bouquet courtesy of Roots and Blooms was perfect – the pampas grass accented against the creamy, dusty florals complimented the nude undertone of her gown! Meghin had a vision for her wedding day look and we love how she stuck to it, regardless of how “nontraditional” it may seem. These are the photos you’ll remember forever, so wear what makes you feel the most confident and beautiful!

We can’t take credit for Tyler’s look, but his modern rustic grooms attire complimented Meghin perfectly. Everything from the leather accents to the pampas grass boutonniere was the ultimate pairing to Meghin’s sexy yet sophisticated Western look. They kept their bridal party casual and comfortable with flowy emerald chiffon dresses and casual attire for the groomsmen! Also, can we PLEASE talk about Meghin’s gorgeous sparkly romper she changed into for the reception?! Because while we can’t take credit for that fabulous frock, we can ABSOLUTELY be jealous of her style!

Congratulations, Meghin and Tyler! We cannot thank you enough for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your big day. We truly believe that “Quest” was just waiting for you, the ultimate cool bride, to rock on your wedding day! We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter – something we’re sure you’ll have in abundance. Cheers to the Bowmans!

#dgcouple: Kimberly & Aaron

August 21, 2021

Alright, y’all, get ready to meet the Delzeits! Kimberly and her partner, Aaron, were married in a gorgeously airy and springtime ceremony in May 2021. We are so blessed to have them be one of our newest #dgcouples! Their photographer, Alexandra Burt, totally captured their upbeat, outgoing love story in these stunning photos. You’ll want to book her SO FAST after you take a peek at some of these. Get ready to fall heels-over-head with Kimberly and Aaron!

Kimberly chose an absolutely stunning Essense of Australia gown that has been one of our absolute favorites since the moment it arrived in our store. Classic, timeless, and totally stunning, this comfortably fitted gown features a stunning illusion neck line, illusion lace back, and softly beaded appliques throughout. Her extended train was made for extra drama and we LOVE that she chose a classic ivory/ivory color palette to feel extra bridal!

Kimberly wanted her wedding day look to be timeless and romantic, which we totally think her gown captured. She chose Essense of Australia style D2174, a stunning fitted gown that showed off her silhouette while still allowing her movement to dance the night away. We’re biased, but there’s no way Aaron didn’t lose it when he saw her! Styling Aaron and his guys to look as good as Kimberly and her girls was easy – classic grey kept Aaron’s look timeless, yet formal!

Aaron’s blue accents were the perfect compliment to the airy, sunflower-centered color palette Kimberly chose. His classic grey suit was dark enough to feel formal, but a more complimentary color than black for a May wedding. Their gorgeous organic backdrop at Botanica was perfect for their bright, springtime ceremony!

Congratulations, Kimberly and Aaron! We so appreciate you trusting us to style you and your bridal party for the big day. We had a blast getting to know you and are so thankful we were able to consider you a #dgcouple. We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter. Cheers to the Delzeits!

#dgbride: Jordan

August 19, 2021

Alright, y’all, we CANNOT WAIT to introduce our newest #dgbride, Jordan! She married her soulmate, Cody, in the most gorgeous, airy summer ceremony in June 2021. We love their bright colors, neutral color palette, and totally gorgeous photos! Their photographer, Lively Photography, did a perfect job of capturing this couple’s upbeat and bubbly attitude. Get ready to save some of these for some serious wedding inspo. Without further ado, Jordan + Cody!

We LOVE puppy photos!! How cute is this family shot of Cody, Jordan, and their fur babies!? Plus, maybe we’re biased, but we love that their fur coloring matches the wedding look perfectly! Classic, bright, and perfect for an outdoor summer wedding, we love how Jordan and Cody leaned into a natural, organic color palette. Cody’s gorgeous tan suit perfectly compliments Jordan’s soft ivory gown!

Jordan chose an absolutely stunning fitted Allure Bridals gown featuring softly sequined organic lace, a comfortable sheath silhouette complete with stretch liner, petite beaded spaghetti straps and a gorgeous open back! It was truly serendipitous for Jordan to choose this gown. She walked into Dress Gallery with a quick turnaround time and we truly believe this gown was waiting for her. Our sample gown was the perfect size for her – but Allure had a BRAND NEW one in stock, ready to ship, so we were able to get Jordan a brand new gown in less than a week!

Thank you so much, Jordan, for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your wedding look! We’re thankful we were able to find the perfect gown, brand new, ready to wear for your big day with plenty of time for alterations. It was like this dress was waiting for you! We wish you and Cody a lifetime of love, happiness, and puppy kisses. Cheers to the Fryes!

5 2022 Wedding Trends You MUST Try

August 16, 2021

Okay, y’all, we LOVE trend forecasting for brides. Being able to keep a pulse on what our brides find unique, interesting, and customizable is important for our business. We want our brides to trust that we have their wedding visions in mind and we are always on the lookout for cool new trends in the wedding industry. Here a few trends we’re seeing for 2022 brides and we are SO STOKED. Fall in love with some of these?! Let your consultant know and we can help style you with these in mind!

Trend #1: Bridal Bows

We are LOVING the bridal bow trend! Whether you’re willing to wear one in your hair, on your shoes, on your dress, or more, bows are a cute and flirty way to add a little drama to your wedding day look. They’re the perfect accent for a bride who wants a traditional, yet modern twist. We’ve seen brides style their looks with tulle hair bows, bow-tie shoes, and even gorgeous bows on the dress themselves!

Trend #2: Bridal Jackets

So bridal jackets aren’t really ~new – we’ve seen a lot of brides create personalized denim/leather jackets for their wedding day. But instead of a coverup for cold weather, we’re seeing brides include bridal jackets as part of their ceremony look! Dainty, feminine jackets out of tulle have been most popular, but we’ve seen some gorgeous lightweight bridal cardigans, fun bell-sleeves, feathers, and more! Don’t be afraid to try something cool and different, especially if your dress is simplistic.

Trend #3: Western-Inspired Accents

Maybe it’s because we’re in Kansas, but our brides are LEANING into the Western-inspired design features and we are HERE FOR IT. Whether you’re wanting leather details, turquoise jewelry, cowboy hats, dried florals, cow hide…..the lists go on and on! Western-inspired weddings mixed with fun, modern pieces are having a MOMENT right now and we love it. This is a great way to personalize your wedding while also showcasing something you love. Plus, we love the option of pairing your bridal look with bold squash blossoms – totally chic yet ultra cool!

(See that gorgeous Western bride? That’s #dgbabe, Kayla, who was featured in Western Weddings Magazine!)

Trend #4: Bridal Headbands

So if Blair Waldorf was getting married in 2022, she would ROCK this look. Preppy yet fashionable, we are loving the idea of pairing such a traditional hair piece for such a formal event. Instead of traditional bridal crystals, brides are opting for pearls, padded, and even attaching the veil to create a totally new look! The hair accessory of your youth is getting a sophisticated makeover for the ultimate bridal statement.

Trend #5: Nontraditional Menswear Ties

Don’t forget about spicing up your groom’s look! Menswear is really taking a front seat in wedding planning these days with many grooms wanting to make as much of a statement as the brides. We love grooms who decide to accent their look with unique details, particularly ties! Bolo ties are definitely having a moment, but we’ve seen grooms choose ascot/cravats, floral/patterned shirts, and even jewelry instead! Don’t sleep on having your man look just as fashionable as you do.

Would you rock some of these 2022 trends?! Tell us your favorites at your appointment or in our Facebook comments!

#dggroom: Travis

August 13, 2021

Guy, you DO NOT want to miss these shots of one of our newest #dggrooms, Travis! He married his soulmate, Carlita, is a super fun, super bright June ceremony filled with SO MUCH laughter and love, we are super envious we missed it. These photos courtesy of Justin Lister Photography perfectly capture the upbeat and outgoing atmosphere of the day. Basically, the Middleton wedding looked like one big dance party and we are HERE FOR IT. Get ready to check out some of these extra fun shots below:

First off, we have to start with a disclaimer: we did not style Travis for his look. Carlita + Travis came in wanting something fresh and fashionable for Travis that would truly set him apart. While we have some great colors and fits, as evidenced by the groomsmen, Travis is just SUPER COOL and wanted a full satin pant with jacquard print jacket and matching waistcoat. And let’s be honest – we ENCOURAGED this look because how awesome is it?!

Travis is a prime example of wearing and doing what YOU wanna wear/do on your wedding day. Carlita and Travis had a wedding vision and didn’t compromise. It was hard to see the whole picture from just the individual details (because we don’t often hear “tan suits, white shoes” for groups!), but when everything came together……MAN this was one fun, unique, totally cool group. They proved us wrong on what traditional groomsmen attire looks like, what different roles can be accented with what, and how to stretch our imaginations with colors and textures. We truly appreciate the Middletons for making us work our creative muscles and helping style one of the most fashionable groups we’ve seen in a hot. minute.

Travis chose our crisp tan suit, white shoes, and rose gold/merlot accents which perfectly complimented the champagne and bordeaux bridesmaids’ dresses. We love how Travis used different accent colors to tie in different roles in the wedding; the best man received a merlot vest while the groomsmen and ushers received rose gold. Dads had a navy pop to help stand out and we love how EVERYONE rocked a bowtie – classic, cool, timeless!

How GOOD LOOKING is this group, y’all?! We can’t get over how many attractive people are in one photo, goodness.

Thank you so much, Travis, for trusting Dress Gallery to style your men for such an important day. We truly loved getting to know you and your unique style; it helped push us creatively while also giving us great feedback at items we can possibly gather for fashion forward grooms. We wish you and Carlita a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter – something we’re SURE you guys will have in abundance. Cheers to the Middletons!

#dgbride: Ashlen

August 10, 2021

Holy goodness, y’all, get ready to swoon over these gorgeous photos of our next #dgbride, Ashlen! She married her soulmate, Austin, a super classic black-and-white ceremony in July 2021. We love how moody yet intimate all of these shots are courtesy of wedding photographer phenom, Staci Brucks. You are gonna wanna save ALL of these photos to your Pinterest for inspiration because this wedding is a DREAM. Get ready to fall in love!

Ashlen chose an absolutely stunning crepe Maggie Sottero gown named “Fernanda” that we absolutely adore. With no embellishments save for fabric buttons down the entire skirt + train length, Ashlen’s silhouette is the true star of this gown. This all ivory gown perfectly fit her classic black-and-white vibe of the wedding, a gorgeous combination of edgy formal that only was heightened by a little bit of stormy skies + rain!

For real, how dreamy are these umbrella photos?! These are a perfect example of not letting the weather ruin your day, but instead embracing everything that your wedding day gives you and allowing it to let your photographer get creative. These rainy day shots are cute and unique, but also intimate and a little steamy with the Lucite umbrella! The industrial feel totally fits with Ashlen + Austin’s vibe while also giving them a safe space from the rain to cuddle up together for gorgeous photos!

Now we gotta show off our girl Ashlen, though. Her dress is a simplistic stunner, totally plain minus those classic fabric buttons throughout the bodice and train. Her tank straps are ultra supportive and classic, while her sheath fit totally highlights her body while still allowing her to dance the night away. Accented with two seams through the bodice and down the thighs, this feature is made to follow the natural curves of your body and let the dress fall perfectly. Fernanda features a swooping, wide train, perfect for dramatic shots and creating extra dimension in photos. Basically, Ashlen looks 10 feet tall in this gown by letting her body do ALL the talking!

Congratulations, Ashlen and Austin! We are so thankful that Ashlen trusted us to style her for such an important day. You truly chose a gorgeous gown and we think Fernanda was just waiting here for you! Your classic wedding look is a vibe we will reference and look back on in awe for years to come. Thank you for letting us be a small part of your big day. We wish you a lifetime of love and laughter. Cheers to the Riggs!
