Get ready to celebrate love today, fam, with our newest #dgbride, Ciara! Haley married her partner, Haley, in a stunningly fun, upbeat, and funky ceremony this past summer. Their entire day was filled with love and laughter, plus some really, really sharp fashion. Our favorite chick Shelby Laine was their wedding photographer, which was honestly a match made in wedding vendor heaven. After seeing these photos, you’re gonna wanna become fast friends with this couple – and copy their wedding ideas. Let’s be honest, we do! Take a peek below:

Ciara and Haley’s day was down-to-earth and celebratory – the entire focus was truly on their love and the party, not the frills and decor. Ciara kept her look totally relaxed and comfortable with her flowy Moonlight Tango gown, featuring white/crystal beading throughout the bodice and a stunning soft blush undertone. Her petite tank straps perfectly accented her shoulders while the soft v neck kept her look sexy, yet supportive the whole day! This dress was the perfect choice to hug guests, play games, and dance the entire night away in.

Can we PLEASE talk about how stunning Ciara’s wedding look is? Bohemian yet glam, polished yet effortless. Her gorgeously curly hair makes us jealous with its’ volum and her soft crystal/mixed metal/mixed gem accents perfectly fit the vibe. We love that she kept her bouquet petite and subtle, like her gown, allowing her natural beauty to really be the star! Plus, the dried florals and pampas grass look creamy and dreamy against the blush of her dress.

We can’t take credit for Haley’s fabulous look, but is there anything cooler than a suit elevated to street wear? We don’t think so. Her formal suit keeps her look perfect for a wedding, but her crisp ivory white hat and shoes accent her look and give it MASSIVE personality. This super cool combination of upscale yet modern is what we love to see from our couples. Wear whatever YOU makes you feel confident and fabulous. For Haley, it was a backwards ball cap on her wedding day and we are HERE. FOR. IT.

Congratulations, Ciara and Haley! Thank you so much for trusting us to style you for your big day. We can’t thank you enough for letting us be a small part of such an important day in your lives. We wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Cheers to the Mortimers!

Giddy up, y’all, and hold onto your cowgirl hats, because we have the coolest wedding we’ve seen in a hot minute about to drop on the blog! Our newest #dgbride Meghin literally created the most gorgeous wedding for her summertime ceremony marrying her soulmate, Tyler. Her modern take on a Western wedding is TO DIE FOR and her photographer, Bridget Nicole, has quickly jumped to a top favorite of ours. You’re going to want to steal every piece of Meghin’s wedding, so get ready to fall in love!

Meghin wore an absolutely fabulous Chic Nostalgia gown named “Quest,” which she customized with shoulder cuffs for an ultimate bohemian vibe. Her fitted strapless gown is a timeless silhouette, while her geometric and floral lace combination recreates the ultimate boho look. We love her totally unique and bespoke pieces to her wedding day look, too. From her leather buckle booties to her leather branded accents, we are OBSESSED with her styling. Just take a peek at her gorgeous bandana bouquet wrap!

Meghin kept her super edgy look classic and feminine by adding pearl accents in her jewelry and veil, which matched the petite beaded detailing throughout her dress. We love her gorgeously wild bouquet courtesy of Roots and Blooms was perfect – the pampas grass accented against the creamy, dusty florals complimented the nude undertone of her gown! Meghin had a vision for her wedding day look and we love how she stuck to it, regardless of how “nontraditional” it may seem. These are the photos you’ll remember forever, so wear what makes you feel the most confident and beautiful!

We can’t take credit for Tyler’s look, but his modern rustic grooms attire complimented Meghin perfectly. Everything from the leather accents to the pampas grass boutonniere was the ultimate pairing to Meghin’s sexy yet sophisticated Western look. They kept their bridal party casual and comfortable with flowy emerald chiffon dresses and casual attire for the groomsmen! Also, can we PLEASE talk about Meghin’s gorgeous sparkly romper she changed into for the reception?! Because while we can’t take credit for that fabulous frock, we can ABSOLUTELY be jealous of her style!

Congratulations, Meghin and Tyler! We cannot thank you enough for trusting Dress Gallery to style you for your big day. We truly believe that “Quest” was just waiting for you, the ultimate cool bride, to rock on your wedding day! We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter – something we’re sure you’ll have in abundance. Cheers to the Bowmans!

Okay, y’all, we LOVE trend forecasting for brides. Being able to keep a pulse on what our brides find unique, interesting, and customizable is important for our business. We want our brides to trust that we have their wedding visions in mind and we are always on the lookout for cool new trends in the wedding industry. Here a few trends we’re seeing for 2022 brides and we are SO STOKED. Fall in love with some of these?! Let your consultant know and we can help style you with these in mind!

Trend #1: Bridal Bows

We are LOVING the bridal bow trend! Whether you’re willing to wear one in your hair, on your shoes, on your dress, or more, bows are a cute and flirty way to add a little drama to your wedding day look. They’re the perfect accent for a bride who wants a traditional, yet modern twist. We’ve seen brides style their looks with tulle hair bows, bow-tie shoes, and even gorgeous bows on the dress themselves!

Trend #2: Bridal Jackets

So bridal jackets aren’t really ~new – we’ve seen a lot of brides create personalized denim/leather jackets for their wedding day. But instead of a coverup for cold weather, we’re seeing brides include bridal jackets as part of their ceremony look! Dainty, feminine jackets out of tulle have been most popular, but we’ve seen some gorgeous lightweight bridal cardigans, fun bell-sleeves, feathers, and more! Don’t be afraid to try something cool and different, especially if your dress is simplistic.

Trend #3: Western-Inspired Accents

Maybe it’s because we’re in Kansas, but our brides are LEANING into the Western-inspired design features and we are HERE FOR IT. Whether you’re wanting leather details, turquoise jewelry, cowboy hats, dried florals, cow hide…..the lists go on and on! Western-inspired weddings mixed with fun, modern pieces are having a MOMENT right now and we love it. This is a great way to personalize your wedding while also showcasing something you love. Plus, we love the option of pairing your bridal look with bold squash blossoms – totally chic yet ultra cool!

(See that gorgeous Western bride? That’s #dgbabe, Kayla, who was featured in Western Weddings Magazine!)

Trend #4: Bridal Headbands

So if Blair Waldorf was getting married in 2022, she would ROCK this look. Preppy yet fashionable, we are loving the idea of pairing such a traditional hair piece for such a formal event. Instead of traditional bridal crystals, brides are opting for pearls, padded, and even attaching the veil to create a totally new look! The hair accessory of your youth is getting a sophisticated makeover for the ultimate bridal statement.

Trend #5: Nontraditional Menswear Ties

Don’t forget about spicing up your groom’s look! Menswear is really taking a front seat in wedding planning these days with many grooms wanting to make as much of a statement as the brides. We love grooms who decide to accent their look with unique details, particularly ties! Bolo ties are definitely having a moment, but we’ve seen grooms choose ascot/cravats, floral/patterned shirts, and even jewelry instead! Don’t sleep on having your man look just as fashionable as you do.

Would you rock some of these 2022 trends?! Tell us your favorites at your appointment or in our Facebook comments!

It’s time to show off another #dgcouple, but this time, they’re a part of the extended Dress Gallery family! Introducing Katie and Josh, a rock-n-roll couple who didn’t let COVID-19 rain on their crazy, fun parade. They threw caution to the wind and had a fun, whirlwind day full of romance, laughter, and good alcohol – is there even a better day?! Katie is actually Shelby Laine Photography‘s mama, so when she was dress shopping, our girl Shelbs didn’t even give her another option of where to look. Can you guess who did the gorgeous photos?! (Psst – it’s Shelby, duh.) Get ready to fall in love with this ultra cool couple!

Can we talk about this unique wedding venue?! Katie and Josh had to change their plans a few times due to COVID-19, so eventually they both threw up their hands and said “Let’s just have some fun!” A family friend owned a liquor store, which they decorated for the occasion and filled with cardboard cutouts along with a small group of friends and family. The entire day was down-to-earth and intimate, along with totally cool! Get ready to take a peek at the bridesmaids’ bouquets!

Katie’s bridesmaids were the most fun group of girls. She wanted the group to be mismatched, but keeping in the jewel tones of her wedding colors. We girls dressed up their outfits however they wanted to, boots or heels, and we love the unique combination of colors and styles. Add in bouquets wrapped in Crown Royal bags (we told you this day featured good liquor!) and you have the the perfect combo between fun and sophisticated.

We kept Josh’s look sleek and cool, featuring a patterned black tuxedo and hunter green accents. We love how he paired his look with silver sparkly Chuck Taylors – the perfect compliment to Katie’s belt! Also, can we talk about ROCKING her pink leather jacket it?! Talk about the ultimate alternative bride! The whole day was Quintessential Katie & Josh, a fun-loving couple who wanted an equally fun and fabulous wedding day.

Congratulations, Josh & Katie! We are so thankful for you to have chosen Dress Gallery as your bridal boutique. We absolutely loved getting to know you and consider you a part of our DG family! Cheers to you both – and drink an extra one for us!

Badass #dgbride Spencer married her soulmate, Nick, on during a gorgeous weekday ceremony on October 12, 2020. We absolutely love their intimate, close-knit ceremony and edgy, cool details. They totally transformed their white barn venue into the moody, modern wedding of their dreams! Thanks to our love, Shelby Laine, for shooting one of the coolest couples we’ve ever met. Check out their wedding below!

Spencer is a local artist who specializes in printmaking. She runs her own shop called “Sleeping Sounds Press” and she definitely utilized her artistic, creative side in her wedding. We love seeing all of her specialized details – like her embroidered handkerchief! (And let’s be honest, we love a little profanity!)

Spencer ended up choosing a gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown named “Ardelle.” Featuring an illusion high neckline, a glitter tulle skirt, and a bespoke corset back, this gown was a surprise contender for her. She expected to fall in love with a fitted, edgy gown, but the princess-vibe of Ardelle ended up being totally perfect!

We absolutely love how Spencer styled her gown. Instead of going very glam and princess like, she kept her gown edgy by including bespoke jewelry (looking at you, Blue Saddle Jewelry!) and a white chiffon bridal cape! Combined with her awesome tattoos and soft rock-and-roll makeup, we think that this is the ultimate queen look!

We can’t get over how happy & in love Spencer & Nick look during their photos! They kept their wedding day down-to-earth and low-key, which was perfect for a weekday wedding. They focused their ceremony on their love for each other and their close group of friends/family!

Thank you so much, Spencer, for allowing us to be a small part of your big day. We are so glad you are at DG bride!

Okay, guys, it’s time for us to lovegush. We have connected with a new vendor in the Wichita area and we are head over heels in love! Let us introduce you to Nikki, the HBIC of Couture Ever After, an event rental and wedding planning service that is totally unique. Collaborating with our girl Shelby Laine, Nikki was the vision behind this romantic and moody styled shoot. We love how she describes her vision – not boho, not modern, not rustic….just chic like her couples!

Fallen totally in love with her custom-made Edison bulb backdrops?! You can rent them for your event!

We styled this gorgeous Essense of Australia gown with bohemian arm cuffs to add a touch of whimsical to the day. This perfectly fitted gown features a Moscato/champagne under color, a layer of secret sparkle, applique lace throughout, and a sexy plunging neckline. We think this dress is perfect for anyone wanting to highlight their shoulders and collarbones!

Can you believe the detailing on this gown?! Complete with 3D beading and a dramatic train, this gown is certainly a stunner! Combined with the architectural elements with this shoot and are totally in love!

For the menswear looks, we decided on our burgundy tuxedo, a moody yet sexy combination for a guy wanting a modern look. This slim-fit tux allows for the tailoring to be the star of the show while the fashion color keeps his look unique and cool. Pair with a patterned tie & pocket square to make his outfit pop!

Are you totally obsessed yet?! Run, don’t walk, to go and book Nikki & Shelby for your wedding! And then right after, come and see us!

So, we love spooky szn here at Dress Gallery. Like, Halloween is our jam. We love any opportunity to add just a little bit of ghoulishness to any occasion and we love when our brides agree. If you’re feeling a little extra mystical this season, here are 13 delicious ways to add just a touch of spooky to your wedding day.

Is there any thing quite so fancy and mystical than smoking cocktails? If you’re wanting your guests to feel like they’re drinking the most devilishly delicious witch’s brew, creating an atmospheric experience by adding liquid nitrogen to the cocktails ups the ambiance and “wow!” factor!

A moody and dark statement cake is a great way to add contrast on your wedding day. Sitting on the stark white and gold table, this cake is sure to be eye-catching to every guests and mysteriously decorated enough to make everyone wonder what delicious flavors lay inside. Combined with soft, feminine touches in the decorating, this androgynous cake is the ultimate dessert show stopper!

This handmade, custom coffin ring box is the ultimate spooky detail. What better way to show “Til Death Do Us Part” than small representations of the afterlife, right? The compartments allow space for both rings, making it the perfect backdrop for those gorgeous ring detail shots!

Set the spooky tone of your wedding early by creating your own gothic-chic invitation suites! Black, white, mixed metals, and pops of color keep your invitations edgy yet elegant. Add in some art designs specific to you and your spouse and these suites can be customized to fit your spook level. We recommend reaching out to a local tattoo artist to help create your look – a great way to get a unique design!

Bringing in accents of your favorite ghouls and monsters is another great way to add fun, creative accents to your wedding. Werewolf paws creating walk ways or these painted vampire teeth as place cards are small ways to little bit of whimsy to your wedding!

Is it really a spooktacular wedding if there aren’t skull details? Skulls are probably the ultimate gothic wedding accent, which makes them perfect to use in almost any capacity. Adding colored, bedazzled, or even matte skulls is an easy way to customize your wedding decor while also maintaining an edgy vibe.

Ornate frames are having a MOMENT right now and we are here for it. We see them most often on mirrors like the one above, used as signage for the wedding, but we’ve also seen them used with table numbers, photo table detailing, and even for a guest book! Using ornate, Victorian looking frames is an easy way to make your event elegant, but with a touch of goth, too!

There is almost nothing as dramatic for a spooky wedding as a black veil. This traditionally white accessory can instantly make any look bridal, but changing it out for black creates an entirely different illusion. With a black veil, you’re mysterious and sexy, a little edgy and dangerous. Combined with beautiful black lace to keep everything feminine and soft, a black veil is the best of both worlds.

Using your unity ceremony as a way to show your mutual weirdness is a great opportunity to make your wedding day your own. We’re a little partial to the above choice, featuring the sandworm from Beetlejuice, one of the ultimate spooky movies. Combine black-and-white detailing with pops of green & purple and you’ll have your guests low key wondering if the Ghost with Most will be popping up!

So there’s just something mystical and spooky about smoke/fog – don’t ask us, we don’t make the rules. If you want to add drama to any photo opportunity, pop a smoke bomb right before and let nature do its’ work to create a moody, wild atmosphere. We recommend a dark and moody color palette; we love when bright orange and purple bombs are used when the wedding party is dressed in darker colors. Add in a creepy location like a cemetery or abandoned building and you’re guaranteed to have the spookiest photos!

Creating a memorable guest experience is one of the most important parts of creating a modern wedding and what better way to get your guests in a magical state of mind than with a tarot reading? Instead of a photobooth, let a local tarot reader read the palms and cards of your guests. Not only is this a fun, interesting way for guests to pass time at your wedding, but its’ also a guaranteed way to make sure the cosmic energies are awakened at your wedding.

Monochromatic black-on-black is the ultimate way to create your spooky color palette come to life. It seems counter intuitive, but layering different blacks creates dimension in your photos and also highlights your love for the darkest, spookiest color. Add in black candles and candlesticks, place settings, frames, cutlery, and more to help add an air of drama to your decor. The only thing better? Getting those gorgeous wax drips on your candles!

Your ceremony arbor is another great location to add gothic drama. Whether you’re wanting something ultra modern and smooth (like black iron) or something more organic (like the dried foliage above), you can definitely achieve your dream spooky look. We recommend keeping the look a little bare, with lots of negative space to really highlight you as a couple!
