Guys, we LOST IT when we saw our newest #dgbride! Jessica married her soulmate, Austin, during one of the coolest and most unique ceremonies we’ve seen in a hot minute. Their photographer, Caitlyn Cloud, TOTALLY captured this fun and feisty day in the best way. We loved her unique posing, effortless style, and super cool viewpoint for this one of a kind wedding. You’re definitely gonna want to put Caitlyn on your short list of photographers – and if you love Jessica’s dress, we have siblings that would look STUNNING! Take a peek at some of our favorite shots below.

How fun are these photos?! Jessica and Austin are such a fun-loving couple and these photos perfectly capture their love. Her bright editing style matches the Bracks’ personalities and we love how classic yet trendy Jessica kept her entire wedding look! Austin’s stunning blue suit made him a fashionable, modern groom to match Jessica’s stunning, sparkly gown!

Jessica picked one of our MOST favorite Essense of Australia gowns – style D2363, a gorgeously sparkly A-line gown featuring bold lace appliques, a layer of secret sequins, and a stunning moscato undertone. We think the champagne/nude color of the dress matches Jessica’s hair and skin tone SO beautifully, yet still ivory enough to feel bridal. She paired it with a simplistic, yet chic beaded fingertip length veil. This dress features all white and crystal beading, meaning she got to shimmer with every step while choosing between whatever metal accents she wants! Gone are the days of exclusively bridal silver….now, you can choose your accents!

Jessica’s EOA dress was one of the first we’d ever seen that featured a layer of sequined tulle, allowing her to shimmer with every step in the natural sunlight. Her organic, natural wedding backdrop was a great contrast to the flowy, ethereal tulle skirt. This dress was perfect for dancing the night away while also creating a “WOW” moment as she walked down the aisle!

Cheers to you both, Jessica + Austin! We absolutely loved getting to know you during your wedding planning process and are SO EXCITED you’re a DG bride. We can’t believe you’re our last bride in this beautiful gown, but let’s be honest – she was just waiting for you! We wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness. We can’t wait to show off your funky wedding photos for years to come! Cheers to the Bracks!

Okay, y’all, we LOVE trend forecasting for brides. Being able to keep a pulse on what our brides find unique, interesting, and customizable is important for our business. We want our brides to trust that we have their wedding visions in mind and we are always on the lookout for cool new trends in the wedding industry. Here a few trends we’re seeing for 2022 brides and we are SO STOKED. Fall in love with some of these?! Let your consultant know and we can help style you with these in mind!

Trend #1: Bridal Bows

We are LOVING the bridal bow trend! Whether you’re willing to wear one in your hair, on your shoes, on your dress, or more, bows are a cute and flirty way to add a little drama to your wedding day look. They’re the perfect accent for a bride who wants a traditional, yet modern twist. We’ve seen brides style their looks with tulle hair bows, bow-tie shoes, and even gorgeous bows on the dress themselves!

Trend #2: Bridal Jackets

So bridal jackets aren’t really ~new – we’ve seen a lot of brides create personalized denim/leather jackets for their wedding day. But instead of a coverup for cold weather, we’re seeing brides include bridal jackets as part of their ceremony look! Dainty, feminine jackets out of tulle have been most popular, but we’ve seen some gorgeous lightweight bridal cardigans, fun bell-sleeves, feathers, and more! Don’t be afraid to try something cool and different, especially if your dress is simplistic.

Trend #3: Western-Inspired Accents

Maybe it’s because we’re in Kansas, but our brides are LEANING into the Western-inspired design features and we are HERE FOR IT. Whether you’re wanting leather details, turquoise jewelry, cowboy hats, dried florals, cow hide…..the lists go on and on! Western-inspired weddings mixed with fun, modern pieces are having a MOMENT right now and we love it. This is a great way to personalize your wedding while also showcasing something you love. Plus, we love the option of pairing your bridal look with bold squash blossoms – totally chic yet ultra cool!

(See that gorgeous Western bride? That’s #dgbabe, Kayla, who was featured in Western Weddings Magazine!)

Trend #4: Bridal Headbands

So if Blair Waldorf was getting married in 2022, she would ROCK this look. Preppy yet fashionable, we are loving the idea of pairing such a traditional hair piece for such a formal event. Instead of traditional bridal crystals, brides are opting for pearls, padded, and even attaching the veil to create a totally new look! The hair accessory of your youth is getting a sophisticated makeover for the ultimate bridal statement.

Trend #5: Nontraditional Menswear Ties

Don’t forget about spicing up your groom’s look! Menswear is really taking a front seat in wedding planning these days with many grooms wanting to make as much of a statement as the brides. We love grooms who decide to accent their look with unique details, particularly ties! Bolo ties are definitely having a moment, but we’ve seen grooms choose ascot/cravats, floral/patterned shirts, and even jewelry instead! Don’t sleep on having your man look just as fashionable as you do.

Would you rock some of these 2022 trends?! Tell us your favorites at your appointment or in our Facebook comments!

Okay, guys, we can’t wait to show off our next #dgbride! Introducing Molly, who married her soulmate Omar in a gorgeous May 2021 ceremony at the Kansas Aviation Museum. She chose an absolutely stunning Maggie Sottero gown featuring long sleeves and Lyndi Mishe, her photographer, captured their romantic day so beautifully! Get ready to fall in love with this intimate ceremony and be inspired by this springtime color palette!

Molly’s dress is Hailey Lynette by Maggie Sottero, a recently discontinued stunner that we truly believed was made for her! Her textured underlay creates dimension while the bold appliques keep her look timeless, yet modern. The nude underlay creates a lot of color definition and allows her lace to truly pop! Soft, subtle sparkle throughout the dress allowed Molly to shimmer with every step.

We love that Molly kept her look soft and feminine with loose bridal curls, fresh greenery in her hair, and super organic and bright wedding florals. Her modest look was still ultra sophisticated and sexy by allowing her silhouette to shine through versus any one body part. This gown truly spoke to Molly mature soul! We love the vintage touch of the filligree lace and baby bell sleeve, the perfect little accent to make this dress truly unique.

We love any couple who truly tries to incorporate their personality into their big day and the Francos were no different! They featured small pops of Star Wars throughout their wedding, which we couldn’t get enough of. The small touches of nerdiness are what made the day feel totally specific to them – plus, who else has a Star Wars cake at their wedding?!

Thank you so much, Molly, for trusting Dress Gallery to be your bridal boutique. When we ordered the LAST Hailey Lynette that Maggie Sottero had in stock, we must have known it was going to be waiting for you! Your day was truly special and we are glad to have played a small part of it. We wish you + Omar a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter – and space adventures! (: Cheers to the Francos!

Okay, y’all, get ready to lose your minds over one of the coolest #dgcouples ever – Kinzie & Jared! Their ultra cool, super fun wedding was held at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Goddard, KS in spring 2021. Their love and laughter shines through every photo captured by Lyndi Mishe Photography, one of newest favorites in the Kansas wedding photo scene. We love how she captured the spirit of this couple; they truly are the most fun and these photos show it!

When it came to her dress, Kinzie wanted something sexy, comfortable, and super cool. Everyone was super stoked when she found her Maggie Sottero gown – it was the perfect combination of all her wants! The flowy chiffon skirt made priority a comfort while also allowing her to have some seriously cool photos (wait and see!) We love her heavily beaded bodice, keeping her look formal and bride, while the silhouette made the vibe more down-to-earth. Dainty spaghetti straps highlighted her shoulders and collar bones and a soft v neckline kept the whole thing sexy, yet sophisticated!

When it came to Jared and his guys, Kinzie wanted to keep the look classic yet cool. They landed on our trim fit steel grey suit, which perfectly suited their springtime day! Dark enough to feel formal, while the grey kept the day feeling fun. Champagne accents kept everything neutral, matching the natural greenery they chose for their florals. This was a perfectly balanced group of classic yet modern – and they look pretty good, if we do say so ourselves!

Can we also talk about how cool it is to be able to access unique wildlife like this, especially for your wedding day? We love how Kinzie + Jared showcased their personality not only in style, but clearly in venue choice. They have some truly special memories that will last them for years to come because c’mon…who gets kissed by a giraffe on their wedding day?! (Kinzie did!)

Like, seriously – how cute are these photos?! You can literally feel Kinzie’s free spirit and Jared’s happiness radiating from your screen. It was so hard to narrow down photos we wanted to use because every moment was filled with the type of joy we wish for every bride and groom. Kinzie is the perfect example of not taking yourself too seriously on your wedding day; let you hair down, kick off your shoes, and just have fun!

Cheers to the Kirklands! Thank you so much, Jared and Kinzie, for choosing Dress Gallery as your bridal boutique. We loved styling you and helping you create the ultimate looks for your perfect day. We are thankful to have played a small part of your big day. We wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness – something we think you’ll have in abundance. Congratulations, Kinzie + Jared!

Traditional ivory will never go out of style, but if you’re a bride wanting to add a little color to your big day, then some of our designers have been waiting for you! We love how soft, feminine, and pastel the designers keep the bridal gown colors, making them gorgeously subtle shades to keep you feeling bridal, not prom-y. Add in some fun embroidery, floral veils, or more unique options to keep the color flowing! Here are 8 of our favorite colored wedding gowns featured RIGHT HERE at DG! You can try all of these gowns on and more during your bridal appointment!

Adara by Allure Bridals

Have you fallen totally in love with this grey/blue stunner?! This flowy, whimsical a-line features a gorgeously dramatic back, trickling lace appliques, a plunging neckline, and banded waist! We can only imagine how gorgeous the skirt of this dress would look flowing in the breeze for a mountaintop elopement!

Hattie by Rebecca Ingram

Introducing one of our FAVORITE new fitted gowns, Hattie! This super gorgeous fit-and-flare gown features a blush undertone with subtle glitter sparkle and matte lace, a total subversion of the traditional bridal style. Combine her fabulous structure, deep plunging neckline, and strapless sweetheart neckline and you have one unique gown!

Sparrow (5805) by Morilee

Not a fan of blush? That’s okay – we love that designers are heading into the “cool” direction, literally! Sparrow is a gorgeous a-line gown that comes in Smokey Lavender, the perfect light purple undertone for brides who want to turn heads. Delicate lace spaghetti straps support the gorgeously open back and lace appliques trickle throughout the skirt. This dress has become a fast favorite in our store and we can see her timeless style being a favorite for years to come!

Orlanda by Maggie Sottero

Can’t choose between long sleeves or showing off your shoulders? Have the best of BOTH worlds with Orlanda, Maggie Sottero’s gorgeous strapless sweetheart ballgown with additional detachable sleeves. These ultra-cool sheer lace long sleeves add a touch of whimsical edge to the dress and we love that, should you choose, you can take them off for a totally different reception look. The designer calls this color “stone” and it’s so gorgeous – partially pink, partially champagne, a little grey – this dress is a chameleon that fits ALL color palettes!

Tuscany Lynette by Maggie Sottero

Can you tell that Maggie Sottero has the colored dress game on lockdown? We absolutely love their unique color ways and how many dresses come in different color options. Tuscany Lynette above comes in FOUR color ways, so whether you’re wanting her in a traditional ivory or the super cool Misty Mauve (pictured!), you’re guaranteed to be a show stopper in this gown. We love its’ delicate beaded spaghetti straps, perfectly placed plunging neckline, and super cool textured lace underlay!

Penelope by Chic Nostalgia

Penelope is one of our absolute favorites from our boho designer, Chic Nostalgia. Featuring detachable bishop sleeves, this deliciously grey dress is the perfect stormy color. We love the delicately beaded lace bodice, soft plunging neckline, and flowy a-line skirt that is just begging to be twirled. Rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck and we’re just WAITING for a bride with a rainy day vision to rock this perfectly edgy storm of a gown!

Joanne by Rebecca Ingram

Okay, babes – meet this textured beauty, Joanne! This babe comes sleeveless or with detachable long bishop sleeves, the perfect ethereal accessory for this dreamy gown. Her Misty Mauve color is perfect for a bride wanting something nontraditional, but gorgeous. Her textured tulle throughout adds visual interest while keeping the dress looking chic and clean lines. Add in a triple-beaded banded waist to highlight your figure and this gown is READY for you!

Lucrezia (8295) by Morilee

This dress is for a glitter girl, through and through. We’re not kidding – be ready to be COVERED in gorgeous glitter wearing Lucrezia. Her show-stopping Rose Gold color was made for the ultimate girly girl, but she is available in a cool silvery-ivory as well. We love the delicately adorned pearls throughout the WHOLE dress – head to toe! Pair with Kate Spade’s Rose Gold sparkle Keds and you have a totally comfortable, yet glam wedding day look.

D3209 by Essense of Australia

Give us all the glam rocker chicks for this stunning celestial gown! Featured in soft blue, this gown has an entire layer of sparkle tulle hiding below the stars, allowing you to shimmer with every step. The cute yet soft a-line makes this perfect gown to dance in all night and the delicate spaghetti straps show off your collar bones & shoulders. If you’re wanting a dress that truly feels one-of-a-kind, D3209 should 100% be on your To-Try list!

Raelynn by Maggie Sottero

Raelynn is probably one of our favorite colorful dresses! Featured above in our favorite color, this blush-and-platinum-grey dress, (yeah, you read that correctly), is literally the chicest of the chic. We love the trickling lace appliques, soft tulle skirt, and sexy-yet-subtle plunging neckline. Add in the banded waist, a trend we’re totally on board with, to really highlight your waist and this gown is perfect!

Which of these gowns is YOUR favorite?! Let us know on Facebook or show your consultant during your appointment!

It’s such a small detail, but we love escort cards. When you have assigned seating, creating a unique and interactive way to display names is a great way to add fun & flair to your wedding. This is also a great way to personalize your day and make something totally special to you. Pulling in your themes, colors, and favorite items can showcase your personality! Check out some of our favorite unique escort cards below.

“Find Your Party Animal” glitter animals

Dinosaurs and zoo animals are having a wedding moment and we are HERE FOR IT. Any opportunity to bring in animals on your big day is a perfect way to show some whimsical flair. Keep these details formal and upscale by painting them in metallic accents!

Retro cassette tapes

Having a throwback wedding and want to really show off your 90s side? We think these cassette tapes are so cute and a great way to add some dimension to your photos. We’ve never seen something iconic like this used as a wedding detail – we love how cool it is!

DIY dip-dyed escort cards

If you’re wanting a way to save some cash, DIY-ing your escort cards is a great option. These super simple cards are dip-dyed in the wedding color palette and feature a bold, modern font. These totally unique and one-of-a-kind escort cards keep your day effortless and organic!

Dried fruit + vellum

There’s just something so classic and chic about dried fruit and with the added pop of vellum, this is a great way to take something easy and make it classy. You could easily swap these orange slices for other fruits that fit your vibe/color palette, or you could mix-and-match for a fun, funky style.

Growlers, jugs, etc.

Instead of creating a space where everyone gathers to look for names, creating centerpieces that also serve as escort cards is a great way to increase flow for your event. This will allow guests to walk around freely while finding their names instead of everyone waiting in a line to see where they belong. We love these cool, down-to-earth painted growlers – perfect for any beer fans!

Origami birds, paper airplanes, and more!

If you’re wanting something that truly has a special touch, we think these origami place cards are a perfect combination of sweet and special. The amount of care and effort that goes into creating even one of these birds is special, but to have one for every wedding guest? It’d be a truly gorgeous photo and a great keepsake for guests.

Raw oysters!

A little bit on the boujie side? We fell head-over-heels with this organic and natural escort card display by using real, raw oyster shells! After cleaning, these chic and sparkly details would make a perfect addition to any nautical wedding. Utilizing organic pieces like this definitely elevates your event.

Take a shot & your seat!

If you’re having a party at your wedding, there’s no better way to get everything started than having the reception start with alcohol all around! These Patron shots topped with limes are a great way to celebrate a tequila-loving couple, but we’ve seen a little bit of everything – Moscow Mule shots, champagne glasses, etc. A little liquid courage and your dance floor will be full before you know it!

Mirror, mirror, on the wall….

One of our favorite new trends we’ve seen in weddings is the use of mirrors as signs; we’ve seen brides use them for just about everything, but we love the use of mirrors as escort cards. The mix-and-match vibe of the mirrors keeps everything bohemian and down-to-earth; combine this look with some gorgeous dried florals & pampas grass!

Terra cotta pieces

Rust & terra cotta are hot colors for 2021 and utilizing real terra cotta is a great way to pull everything together. We love the asymmetrical, organic edge of these broken pieces! If you’re wanting something more put together, we’ve seen brides utilize round terra cotta plant saucers – either way, we love the unique look!

Colorful, tessellated tiles

Whether you’re wanting something more subdued or a bright pop of color, tiles are a great way to show off your colors/theme while still keeping a formal feel. We love these blue accented tiles with a boxwood backdrop – a great combination of upscale yet down-to-earth. We think that Spanish tiles, with their bright bursts of colors, would be gorgeous too!

Which is your favorite escort card idea?! Which would you want at your wedding? Let us know in the comments!

We are so excited to show off some of our favorite images of our newest styled shoot featuring the Kansas Aviation Museum! If you’re looking for a unique, alternative place to host your wedding, you should definitely be adding the Kansas Aviation Museum to your list. Their beautiful space lists tons of room for guests (COVID ever allowing, of course), along with access for picturesque areas of the museum perfect for photos and also for guests.

We loved teaming up with KAM to help be a small part of this awesome styled shoot, shot by local photographer Justin Lister (who has been listed as one of our favorites in previous blog posts!) Check out some of our favorite shots featuring models Sarah & Spencer, an actual #dgcouple getting married in April!

For Sarah, we selected a whimsical and bohemian full lace sleeved a-line gown with flowing tulle skirt and keyhole back. Her illusion neckline and banded waist perfectly accentuate her silhouette while still allowing her to dance the night away! For Spencer, we chose one of our newest favorites, a Mulberry suit with mauve accents that matched the moody florals of the day.

Check out these awesome shots complete with vintage planes! Access to the museum is a perk of the venue, which not only acts as a cool backdrop for you, but also a unique experience for your guests. We love the idea of a romantic, intimate shot in the flight traffic tower!

We hope you love these images and are inspired to give KAM a look on your venue search! Are you a KAM bride? Let us know on Facebook and show off your photos!

OKAY GUYS, so we’ve been waiting very, very, very patiently to show off this styled shoot we did at the end of summer. The visionaries over at Endless Treasures came up with this super cool, 80’s-vibes concept that we jumped at the chance to help out with! We love how laid back, down-to-earth, but totally fun and funky this styled shoot turned out. If you’re a bride wanting something totally different or someone planning a super cool vow renewal – we think this would be the perfect inspiration! Thanks a whole bunch to our love the Ashleys over at Kay + Bee for this fab photos – we love you, girls!

Endless Treasures had a great vision in mind when putting together this styled shoot. They wanted a bright, airy day complete with pops of bright, neon colors and 80s accents. When it came to styling Madyson & Lucas, our models, the girls knew exactly what they wanted – something funky for Lucas and a two piece for Madyson!

We knew that our traditional bridal gowns wouldn’t create the “wow” impact that Endless Treasures was hoping for, so we created this custom look for them by piecing together a tie-front shirt and a gorgeous royal blue satin romper-skirt! It was actually the bottom of a two piece prom outfit we had! Paired with Madyson’s rocker-chic curly mohawk and the artistic details, we are totally heels-over-head for this look.

Styled shoots take a village to pull off and while we’re proud to have played a small part with the outfits, there were so. many. vendors. that helped make this vision come to life. We love the tropical florals provided by Revel Gardens and the terrazzo-inspired cake from Stand Tall Bakery! Check the bottom of the post for the full list of vendors.

Can we PLEASE swoon over the super cool cassette tape seating chart and these massive, over-the-top tropical florals?! We also love the cute, repetitive detail of used paintbrushes throughout! We think would be the coolest elopement or quick ceremony for any art lovers! Also, can we talk about the bohemian-cool atmosphere that the tropical-colored fringe creates?! We love a good fringe!

Thank you so much to Botanica for hosting us! Their rainbow bridge was the perfect backdrop to accent our rainbow-inspired day.

When it came to Lucas’s look, we kept his ceremony outfit traditional-cool with an all ivory look to offset the amount of color throughout. For his reception look, we swapped the jacket for a funky, color pattern that perfectly accented Madyson’s skirt! We love how cool and unique this couple looks together.

Thank you SO MUCH to all the vendors that helped up create this super cool styled shoot! This is definitely one of our favorites one to date. We love the super unique vision the ladies at Endless Treasures had and are so glad they chose us to help. Check out all of the other fabulous vendors listed below with links to their business pages!
